CHOOSING A NETWORK MARKETING COMPANY 

As many of you are now working from home, or perhaps losing hours and pay at your job, I thought it would be a good time to share some tips on how I chose the network marketing company I did. 

When we were first planning our move to Vietnam, I was burnt out from teaching and wanted to be able to stay at home with my then toddler as we settled into a new country and culture. It was then that I started to peruse various network marketing companies to see if any would be a good fit for me. 

My first criteria was that it had to be something I could do overseas. This quickly ruled out some of the clothing and makeup network marketing companies that required you to keep a stock of the items. At the time, I wasn't sure how to even ship stuff from the US to Vietnam without it getting stuck in customs. 

I then began looking for a network marketing company that had a product that I loved. I had purchased items from friends in various network marketing companies before, and there were some items I loved and used regularly, but didn't meet my first criteria. I found a few companies that had online options for a personalized website to sell from, without needing a stock. However, I still hadn't found the product that I absolutely loved and felt good about selling to others. 

I started to consider online teaching as an option, but the hours didn't quite work for our family, so I kept looking. After a few months of living in Hanoi, and our respiratory and immune systems trying desperately to adjust to this polluted city, I finally found the product I loved - doTERRA essential oils! 

I didn't go into doTERRA wanting to build the business immediately. At first, I was just a skeptical yet happy customer, keeping my options open. As I began to use the oils regularly and experience the power of the oils in supporting my respiratory system, I started to share a few posts of my successes on social media. My sister saw it and was my first customer - before I had even decided to do the business. She signed up with her own membership and I got my first paycheck. That was what finally convinced me to make this my network marketing business. I had a product that I loved and I could do it from anywhere in the world! 

As I began to dig deeper into the heart of doTERRA, I learned how they help small farmers and communities around the world with schools and hospitals. As I listened to the free business training from my team leaders, I learned about the financial possibilities with building a doTERRA business. These things further convinced me that I had chosen the right network marketing company for me. I knew it wouldn't be easy and it wouldn't be fast, but I knew I was in this for the long run.
